Consumer electronic products and Software Development

To offer alternative OS versions as strategic and competitive tools to Microsoft Window, Apple OS, Google Chrome OS and Open Linux variants. HP has tried to add new values into its computer products and software development by introducing its new released WebOS to open source communities. It is called LunaCe, ideally running on a Legacy TouchPad Tablets. Google’s Chrome OS has just been tested on Samsung’s Chromebooks with prices from $500 to $350. If both Google and HP can improve their new open-source-code OS versions, mostly compatible with tablets and Smartphone, two corporations will have more powerful edges to gain some market shares from Microsoft’s dominated Window OS. Apple has raised its market capitalization by shortening each new released product cycle of iPhone and iPad to generate substantial profit margins from the global market. The patent battle with Samsung is another proof of explaining how Apple needs to dominate Smartphone and tablet markets. Samsung has used Google’s Android OS. Samsung has leveraged its market competitive strategies to offer new Smartphones running Window Phone OS. HP has tried to catch up the mainstream consumers’ tastes to develop its own WebOS compatible for tablets.

Hybrid tablets will run on Window 8 (compatible with Intel chipsets) and Window RT (compatible with ARM chipsets). Tablet makers like Samsung, Asus, and HP will offer foldable-keyboard or detachable keyboard. Such revolution makes users can take advantage of using full-size keyboard functions with a tablet. Laptops usually consume more energy – battery running times and outlet plug-in. Hybrid tablets save energy and offer elegant outlooks as well as lighter weights. Affluent consumers may take an appealing quality of new HD TVs with 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. But 4K HD TVs seem to pricey about more than $20,000 a unit. Their sizes of 84 inches or larger also need a large space of living rooms and special home entertainment rooms at home. New HD TV models may attract affluent customers who are still enjoy home-based entertainment quality versus regular consumers who prefer handheld HD TV devices like tablets, Smartphone and laptops.

Hardware makers and software developers need one another in specific situations. In the past, each company only focused on manufacturing hardware components or developing software products and selling them in a complete product and package or customized into customers’ desired products. Customers can select hardware components from different hardware vendors and order software products from different software vendors. A complete PC has different hardware and software vendors supplying components and software. For instance, a keyboard, mouse from Logitech; a LCD monitor comes from ViewSonic; CPU is from Intel or AMD; SDRAM is from Samsung or Toshiba; a Motherboard is from Asus; and others. Dell has partnered with VMware to offer new servers, networks and storage components based on the architecture of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Both companies can benefit by allowing business clients to choose customized orders based on their business needs and customer usage sizes. Small companies can purchase lower price systems.

Apple has enhanced their OS versions from Snow Leopard, Lion to Mountain Lion. Mountain Lion has outperformed its predecessor Lion in Net applications that have been deployed in most Mac systems. Users access to different applications and interests over the Internet of mobile 3G/4G, Wi-Fi and wired connections. OS versions need to handle such traffic and executions at speed and efficiency.
